Before I join Designlab (design bootcamp), I have already heard from other friends who work in the IT industry that Figma is a nice tool to collaborate and easy to hand off design work to software developers. I believe collaboration is very essential on a daily basis since designers are not working alone. Without software developers, there is no final output. In this regard, I decided to use Figma as the main design tool and I have no regret so far.

Comment function

One of the features that I love the most is the comment function. Collaborators could leave their comments anywhere on the frame. In this sense, the comment would be very specific. It would be easier for designers to refer to it anytime afterward and they could leave a reply to the comment when the task is done. You can even “@” someone inside the team to let them aware that you are communicating with them. It is also very useful to learn the keyboard shortcuts to leave and post a comment as well.

Figma Link

Figma link is extremely useful when you are sharing your file (no matter finished or not) with colleagues and clients. You do not need to export each file/frame and put it all together in any cloud storage. They could access the file with only one click.

These are the two features that I found super useful for handoff and collaboration with internal and external parties. It is an excellent end-to-end design tool for the whole team.
